MAWBY Sparkling and the Community: Philanthropy Through Action and Connection

At MAWBY Sparkling, we know the importance of community, and giving back has always been a core value here. We have a long history of supporting Northern Michigan nonprofits, environmental conservation efforts, and local organizations that strengthen our region.

We demonstrate our dedication in two ways. First, we partner with local food creators and companies in our tasting rooms and through special events. Second, we support organizations through our MAWBY Gives philanthropic giving program. Here’s a look at both.

Partnerships with Local Food Makers

Northern Michigan is abundant with farmers, growers, bakers, and restaurateurs. MAWBY Sparkling knows the importance of small, local businesses supporting one another. We have built partnerships with some of these companies by featuring their products in our tasting room and through special events. To date, our partners include:

Leelanau Cheese Co.

This award-winning cheese company is featured on our tasting room menu and in events like Mags and Cheese.

Gabe’s Country Smoked Meats

For over 60 years, this family-owned business has been creating excellent smoked meats. They now feature prominently on our Taste of Leelanau plate.

Natural Northern Spreads

A longtime friend of MAWBY Sparkling, they create spreads that our guests look forward to each time they visit our tasting room.

The Baker’s Gamble

An independent baker in Northport, Kate’s creativity is regularly featured at MAWBY Sparkling. Her scones, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and macarons pair beautifully with our wines.

Panther Coffee

We recently partnered with this inventive coffee roaster to create a truly unique wine, Panther Coffee Cuvée.

Local restaurants, including Farm Club, 9 Bean Rows, and Wren, have joined us for Friday Happy Hours in the tasting room. Everybody wins when MAWBY Sparkling wines are paired with foods from these excellent companies.

MAWBY Gives: Philanthropy at Work

Good work can be hard work, and we know this as makers of sparkling wine. We also know the value of nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work in our community, and we strive to amplify their impact.

Through MAWBY Gives, we select one or two partners every year to receive support. This support includes a portion of sales from Build Your Own Flight in the tasting room, along with volunteering and visibility.

MAWBY Gives is much more than a donation. It’s about building relationships and sharing resources while amplifying each other’s voices. We’re honored to support partners who are making a difference, and we seek ways to grow together. Specifically:

Financial Contribution

A percentage of proceeds from Build Your Own Flight in our tasting room is donated to our partners over the course of our year of partnership. This is a wonderful way for guests to join in giving because every glass helps fund vital community initiatives.

Hands-On Support

The MAWBY Sparkling staff contributes volunteer hours with our partners during the year of support. It’s a meaningful way to support the organizations that make our area smarter, stronger, healthier, cleaner, and a better place to live, play, and work.

Awareness and Exposure

Partner organizations are featured in our tasting room, on our menu, and in select communications like press releases, our website, and social media. In turn, our partners highlight MAWBY Sparkling in their communications efforts.
