Sober curious? Doing Dry January? Cutting back? It is no surprise that our drinking culture has evolved, with more people looking for beverages that provide a delightful experience without the high alcohol content. Low-alcohol drinks, also known as "low-ABV", are gaining popularity for their ability to offer flavor complexity without the potency. Here at MAWBY we have several options for you to savor the moment with a lighter libation.
Low and Sparkly, naturally
By nature, sparkling wines are lower in alcohol than traditional still wines. We pick grapes for sparkling wine earlier in the growing season, meaning the grapes have less sugar. Because sugar is converted to alcohol, the finished sparkling product is around 11% alcohol, as opposed to 13% or more in still wines.
Both green and Neon are even lower at roughly 9% alcohol. They retain their delightful fizz, juicy flavors, and perfect pair-ability, but without the higher alcohol punch.
Portable, not potent
Canned alcoholic beverages became all the rage a few years ago, and we can see why. They are better for the environment, easy to transport and just the right serving size.
But depending on the brand, they can mean a lot of wine in a little time. One standard can of wine is the equivalent to half a bottle! In the summer of 2019 we released Tropic, a tea infused sparkling rosé that is bright, effervescent and fun. At only 6% ABV this "session-able" bubbly can be enjoyed all day long.
Cocktails, MAWBY style
Low-alcohol cocktails offer a world of possibilities, allowing you to savor the art of mixology without the heavy intoxication. Here are two of our favorite ways to enjoy MAWBY sparkling wine with a lighter touch.
