BLANC (Brut/ $27) is a MAWBY classic. This cuvée spent over two years en triage and consists of 50% 2019 Chardonnay Cuvee, 17% 2018 Reserve wines, 14% 2019 Pinot Gris Cuvee, 12% 2019 Riesling Cuvee, 6% 2019 Washington Chardonnay and 2% 2019 Chardonnay Tailles.
GOLD (Brut/$35) has been a regular fall release for the past few years. This cuvee was en tirage for two years and consists of 83% 2019 Pinot Noir Cuvee, 17% 2019 Chardonnay Cuvee. GOLD pairs well with roasted chestnuts, aged cheeses, mushroom dishes and rich pastas. The 2019 vintage was cooler, consequently these two wines show a vibrant acidity and should age beautifully. Drink now or by 2027.
Redd (Semi Dry /$19) and BBRedd (Semi Dry/$21) partners in color and bubbles. However, these two wines are drastically different in aroma and flavor. The base wine is similar and mostly consists of hybrid fruit such as Regent, Marquette and Chambourcin. However, the bourbon barrel version is aged for 14 months in Four Roses and Buffalo Trace barrels and finished with a slightly dryer dosage. Both are lovely companions for BBQ and bonfires this fall. And, we made more BBRedd this year so we have plenty!
This bottling of green (Semi Dry/ $15) is made from 80% Cayuga and 20% Riesling grapes grown in Michigan. A portion of the sales from this wine support local charities and our partners this year are: Leelanau Christian Neighbors, FLOW (For Love of Water) and The Women’s Resource Center of Traverse City.
We round out the fall selection with our most popular wine …. Sex ( Brut/$17). This wine is made with west coast fruit. We work with wineries and growers in Washington state and central California to produce this mouth watering bubbly favorite. This wine is finished with a dosage that lands in the brut category, but drinks slightly sweeter because of the abundant fruit flavors. Pair with Thanksgiving dinner, and all of your holiday celebrations.
